Interaction with VC and Professors of TU

05 November, 2011

HUNSA organized the interaction program with VC, and three other professors from TU, who were in Hokudai for participation in seminar organized by Global Land Project, Sapporo Nodal office. This seminar was the part of the Hokkaido University Sustainability Week 2011.

 

Wheel Chair Handover

20 October, 2011

HUNSA initiated to handover a wheelchair to Ms Tuka Devi Bhattari of Biratnagar, Nepal. So far HUNSA has helped to distribute 20 wheelchairs to needy person in the Nepal.

 

Dashain Celebration

06 October, 2011

This year Dashain was celebrated within the HUNSA community unlike last year with NRN Hokkaido Branch. All members gathered at Kokusai and prepared various Nepali food items. Tika and blessings were received from the elder members.

 

Welcome Program

06 October, 2011

HUNSA welcome Dr. Yadu Pokherla, who joined the graduate school of engineering as a post doc fellow, and Mr. Sharad Paudel, who joined the graduate school of Vetnary science as a PhD fellow.

 

Farewell Program

26 September, 2011

HUNSA organized a farewell program to Dr. Damodar Lamsal and Ms. Bijaya Lamsal. Dr. Lamsal returned to Nepal after successfully completing a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Hokkaido University. 


Interaction Program with Dr. Ranjan Kumar Dahal

13 September, 2011

HUNSA organized a interaction program with Prof. Ranjan Kumar Dahal, who visited Hokudai  for a symposium.  Prof. Dahal is affiliated with Department of Geology, Trichandra College, Tribhuvan University, and currently a visiting Prof. and JSPS research fellow at Ehime University, Japan.

Teej Celebration

28 August, 2011

All together, 15 members participated in the Teej (Dhar) program organized at the Soen International Resident. Male members took the responsibility of shopping, cooking and cleaning. Moreover, female members also actively involved in cooking purposes. Khir, Achar, Mix vegetables, Fried chicken, etc. were some of the food items prepared during the event.

 

Farewell Program

20 August, 2011

A farewell program was organized to adieu Dr. Subesh Ghimire and his family on 20 Aug. 2011 at Clark Kaikan. Dr. Ghimire returned Nepal after completing his two year term of  post doc. (JSPS) term in graduate school of science. He will join the central department of geography, tribhuvan university as a lecturer in Nepal.

 

Beach Visit Program

06 August, 2011

HUNSA has organized a beach program to the Otaru dream beach on 6 August, 2011. All together, 15 members participated in the program. The day weather was very fine to enjoy the swimming and barbeque. So, participants enjoyed the barbeque and played various games at the beach. Moreover, on this occasion HUNSA family also welcomed Dr. Bimal Kumar Pandey, and parents of Mr. Dipesh Shrestha (Affiliated member of HUNSA).

Interaction with Dr. Ved Kafle

21 July, 2011

Hunsa organized a short interaction with Dr. Bed Kafle from the National institute of information and communication technology (NICT), Tokyo. Dr. Kafle was  in Sapporo to attend a conference at Hokudai.

 

Interaction Program with Intern from AIT

17 June, 2011

Interaction program was organized to welcome Ms. Bibhuti Sharma, she visited Hokudai for 2 month of internships from AIT. She is she is pursuing her Master's degree in Transportation Engineering at AIT.

 

Interaction Program with Visiting Nepali Artists

21 May, 2011

An interaction program was organized with visiting Nepali artists Mr. Krishna Gurung, Nepal National Theater Music, Director (Bansuri); Mr. Gobinda Gurung, Sorathi Expert; Mr. Kharka Bahadur Budha Magar, Nepal National Theater Music, Instructor, Madal. They have visited Hokkaido for learning Ainu culture and tradition. This visit was organized by Tokyo based organization Maya Nepali Sangeet Sanstha, and on this occasion president of this organization Ms. Yuko Okamoto Malla was also present. Discussion was surrounded around the Nepal traditional music, dance and instruments and way to conserve it.

 

Hanami (Sakura Flower Viewing Program)

14 May, 2011

This year HANAMI was organized on 14 May near Clark Kaikan, Hokudai Campus. All together 15 HUNSA members attended the program and enjoyed barbeque. Male members also entertained themselves by playing football, whereas female members were busy in taking pictures of Sakura flower.

 

Unveiling of the Hokudai Bisauni 13 Issue

14 April, 2011

The 13th issue of Hokudai Bisauni was unveiled on 14 April, 2011 on the occasion of Nepali New Year Day at Clark Kaikan, Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan. Hokudai Bisauni is an annual publication of Hokkaido University Nepalese Students Association (HUNSA). This issue was special issue focused on the 55th anniversary of Nepal-Japan diplomatic relationship, and Nepal Tourism Year 2011, which was supported by Embassy of Nepal, Tokyo, Japan. This special was unveiled by Prof. Dr. Teiji Watanabe and Prof. Dr. Kazunori Arita, Hokkaido University. Dr. Yadab Prasad Dhakal was the chief editor, Mr. Ajay Paudel, Mr. Santosh Prasad Sah, Dr. Subesh Ghimire were the editors, and Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi, Dr. Kazunori Arita, Dr. Pitamber Gautam and Dr. Sanjay Acharya were the guest editors of this issue.

Nepali New Year Celebration Program

14 April, 2011

Nepali New Year 2068 celebrated on 14 April 2011, which was Nepal new year day. All together 60 Japanese and Nepalese people participated in the program that was jointly organized by the Hokkaido University Nepalese Students Association (HUNSA), NRN Hokkaido Branch and Japan Nepal Society Hokkaido Branch. Participants enjoyed the Nepali style dinner and Nepali music.

 

Donation to Great Eastern Japan Earthquake

30 March, 2011

The earthquake that hit Japan on 11 March, 2011 has been named as Great Eastern Japan Earthquake (Higasinihon daisinsai). HUNSA has donated 20000 yen to the great eastern Japan earthquake fund (Higasinihon daisinsai genkin; account no. 02700 5 22890). HUNSA members are also generously donating in fund raising campaign organize by their respective research lab and various organizations.

Felicitation, Welcome and Farewell Program

25 March, 2011

HUNSA organized a felicitation program to Mr. Moti Lal Ghimire for successfully completing the PhD degree, welcome program to new members Mr. Ambrish Pokheral and Ms. Bhagawati Kunwar, and farewell program to Mr. Motil Lal Ghimire, Ms. Nirmala Ghimire, Mr. Yadav Dhakal and Ms Rita Dhakal on 25 March, 2011 at Clark Kaikan.

HUNSA organized a congratulation and farewell program to Mr. Madan Sigdel for completing PhD degree successfully on 10 Feb, 2011 at Clark Kaikan.
